Rain, maybe thunderstorm, in Tri-City forecast

A weather system moving through Washington and Oregon is expected to bring rain to the Tri-Cities and a chance of thunderstorms with hail to the Mid-Columbia Monday and Tuesday.

Travelers should be prepared for snow in Washington and Oregon at elevations above 3,500 feet, including on Interstate 84 near Meacham, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of rain in the Tri-Cities is 60 percent this evening, possibly with a thunderstorm that could produce small hail. Breezes of 10 to 18 mph with gusts up to 25 mph are expected in the late evening.

The chance of showers drops to 40 percent Tuesday morning with some clearing expected in the Tri-Cities Tuesday afternoon through Thursday. Early forecasts call for a sunny weekend in the Tri-Cities.
