Franklin County Republicans gather March 19
Delegates from Franklin County’s Republican Party will be selected March 19 for the state Republican convention in May.
Franklin County’s convention starts at 9 a.m. at Columbia Basin College’s Gjerde Center in Pasco. The gathering will go as long as is necessary to select 15 delegates and alternates to attend the state convention and to finalize the party’s 2016 platform.
Delegates to the county convention were selected during the statewide Republican caucuses on Feb. 20. Delegates to the state convention, which will be May 19-21 at TRAC in Pasco, will largely be selected from that pool, though party officials said anyone nominated from the floor can be voted on.
The public is welcome to attend the county convention and sit in the gallery.
The Benton County Republican Party will have its county convention March 26 at the Red Lion Hotel at Columbia Center in Kennewick. Tickets are $40 and include lunch. They can be purchased bit.ly/BentonGOP.
