Eat All About It: New steak, seafood restaurant to open in Kennewick

A new fine dining experience is moving into the home of a former steak and seafood restaurant just off of Gage Boulevard.

Colea Fine Steak & Seafood, in the commercial development at 1408 N. Louisiana St. alongside Gage Boulevard, is scheduled to open at 4 p.m. Feb. 26 for its first dinner service, and will then be open seven days a week. But it won’t just be an evening venue because brunch and lunch will also be offered.

The location was the home of steakhouse 3C Prime, which closed sometime at the end of 2015. 3C Prime had occupied the space, just across the parking lot from Olive Garden, since 2013.

Colea has been revamping the space since at least early January, according to posts on the new restaurant’s Facebook page.

The new restaurant’s brunch menu, served only on weekends, includes standards such as biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, steak and eggs, and more eclectic offerings such as shrimp and grits. While the steak and eggs could set you back a bit —$ 35 if you order it with a wagyu tenderloin, a cut of high quality beef — most of the other items range from $8 to $14.

The weekday lunch menu has a side of truffle mac and cheese for $8, or you can order a burger or sandwich for between $10 and $15.

For dinner, to be offered each night, there are entrees such as diver sea scallops with a cauliflower puree and white miso honey sauce for $32 or an apple-brined double cut porkchop for $13. and there’s an ample listing of variously-sized ribeye, striploin and tenderloin steaks, and other choices such as a rack of lamb. There will also be a full bar.

Starters are the same at all meals, including items such as beef carpaccio or fried calamari, though the house granola and yogurt is only on the brunch menu.

After Friday’s opening, regular operating hours will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The restaurant is taking reservations; call them at 509-579-0220.

And if you’re wondering about the former home of Bruchi’s on the other end of the development from Colea, it does look like there’s work happening in that space, but no indication of what, if anything, could be moving in.
