Kennewick teen injured in three-car accident on Highway 240

Sean Skinner, 17, of Kennewick, was injured Thursday after a three-car collision on Highway 240 in Richland, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Skinner was driving a 2003 Buick Century eastbound near the Columbia Park Trail exit shortly after 5 p.m. when he collided with a Dodge Dakota pickup driven by Ivan Papp, 60, of Richland, police said. Papp had slowed for traffic.

Papp’s vehicle then hit a Honda Civic driven by Joseph Andler, 29, of East Wenatchee, police said.

Skinner was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. He spent some time in the emergency room before being released.

Papp and Andler were uninjured, police said. All three drivers were wearing seat belts.

Police listed the cause as inattention and said Skinner will be cited for second-degree negligent driving.

The Buick and the Dodge were towed from the scene.
