Pasco issues permit for AutoZone warehouse
AutoZone Inc. has received construction permits for its new distribution center in Pasco.
The Memphis, Tenn.-based auto parts retailer will build a massive distribution center at 3733 Capitol Ave. near the King City truck stop. The project will cost nearly $39 million to construct. A contractor has not been determined.
Economic development officials from the Tri-City Development Council and city of Pasco spent more than a year working to secure the 443,819-square-foot warehouse and its 200 jobs. The state is supporting the project with nearly $3 million in incentives, including a $200,000 grant from the Governor’s Strategic Reserve Fund and a sales tax rebate of about $2.6 million on the cost of construction.
With more than $10 billion in annual sales, AutoZone is a Fortune 500 company offering a much-needed economic boost to Pasco. The warehouse will support AutoZone’s growing network of stores.
