Richland apartments would harm neighborhood, city says
The deadline is looming to comment on a proposed 112-unit apartment complex near south Richland’s Meadow Springs area.
Developer Duane Smith is seeking permits to develop an apartment complex on a 14-acre site east of the Willowbrook neighborhood, off Leslie Road near the west fork of the Amon Basin. The project would have more than 200 parking spots. Smith, who is based in Mukilteo, first applied for permission to build on July 17, 2014.
The city of Richland determined that the project would have a significant impact on the local environment, including traffic.
Comments are due by 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12 to Rick Simon, Richland development services manager, P.O. Box 190, MS 02, Richland, WA 99352.
