Kennewick woman died in Zintel Canyon not far from home
A woman found dead last week in Zintel Canyon had been living with her parents less than 100 yards away in Canyon Lakes.
Lindsay Haven Teagle, 32, was a lifelong Tri-City resident.
Her body was discovered Jan. 29 by teens in the canyon, north of the Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
Kennewick police are trying to figure out where Haven Teagle had been in the days leading up to her death, but have said there are no signs or evidence of foul play.
Authorities are waiting on the results of toxicology tests before releasing how she died. It will take several weeks to get results.
“She loved her family,” said Amy Martin, her older sister.
Born in Richland, Haven Teagle most recently was living with her parents Beverly and David Haven on South Irby Court. She had been divorced for a couple of years.
Her father, David Haven, was an off-duty Kennewick police detective in 1992 when he was attacked while giving a couple a ride from Kennewick to Pasco. Haven was shot with his own revolver in the thigh, hip and hand.
Martin said Friday that her sister loved dogs, particularly chihuahuas, and was a huge fan of country singer Vince Gill.
She recalled that Haven Teagle was so wound up as a child, “a lot of the time she would travel by doing somersaults.”
“(Lindsay) was always very hyperactive,” Martin said. “She always made everybody laugh with her little antics. She was very sassy.”
Haven Teagle attended Cascade Elementary, Highlands Middle and Southridge High School.
At age 15, she was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia, a rare genetic disease that leads to bone marrow failure. She spent a year at Seattle Children’s Hospital battling the disorder and at 16 had a successful transplant, with her sister as the matching donor.
“She was such a fighter during her bone marrow transplant and it was successful because of that,” Martin said.
Haven Teagle was not able to work because the transplant left her with nerve damage to her hands and other complications, her sister said.
Anyone with information on Haven Teagle’s death is asked to call Kennewick police at 509-628-0333.
