Lit Fest opens Feb. 2 with evening of book reviews in Kennewick
The Tri-Cities’ annual celebration of authors — Lit Fest — will open with an evening of book reviews Feb. 2.
Seven Tri-City-area book enthusiasts will take part in About the Book at 6 p.m. at Zinful Wine Bar in downtown Kennewick.
Talking about admired books, both novels and non-fiction, will be Carol Berry, a literacy advocate; Merry Leow, a retired Battelle editor; Kristina Lord, assistant managing editor for the Tri-City Herald; Dr. Joshua Miller with Northwest Orthopedics; John Swope, a chemical engineer; Matt Taylor, a retired Herald editor; and Martín Valadez, educator and a Tri-Cities Health director.
Ed Frost, a Lit Fest committee member, will emcee the event.
Throughout the next five months award-winning authors and poets will appear at Lit Fest events, free to the public, at Richland Library and Mid-Columbia Library. A second About the Book will close Lit Fest in June at Bookwalter Winery.
