Tri-City announcement planned for state treasurer race

An announcement about the Washington state treasurer’s race will be made at the Republican Club’s legislative reception Tuesday.

James McIntire, the state’s Democratic treasurer, has announced he does not plan to run for re-election in 2016. He has served since 2008.

The legislative reception for 8th, 9th and 16th District legislators will kick off their next session in Olympia.

It is at 6:30 p.m. at the Country Gentleman Restaurant, Catering and Event Center, 9221 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick. Donations will be requested to cover the cost of the event.
