Getting ready for New Year’s fireworks

State law allows for fireworks to be sold and fired off to celebrate the new year. However, Kennewick, Prosser and Franklin County outright ban them.

West Richland and Walla Walla County have stricter rules than the state, limiting the window of possession and use from 6 p.m. Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. Jan. 1.
