Former cancer patients plan fundraiser for NW Cancer Clinic
The Northwest Cancer Clinic is collecting gently used coats and new hats, gloves and socks and non-perishable food for the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission’s Women and Children’s Shelter.
Donations can be dropped off 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 31. The clinic is at 7379 W. Deschutes Ave., Suite 100.
Also, former cancer patients are coming together for the holidays to donate gifts like homemade hats and ornaments, books and personal care packages to current patients.
It started with one patient who wanted to make a difference so he made wooden ornaments for other patients, said Dr. Sheila Rege, radiation oncologist and clinic partner. “It’s about making a difference in the world. Sure, you have had cancer, and you cannot do everything, but you can do something.”
