A winter storm watch is in effect for the Mid-Columbia through Thursday night.
Snow and ice are expected, and freezing rain could hit Thursday afternoon and evening, turning to just rain after 10 p.m., said the National Weather Service in Pendleton. New precipitation is expected to be less than a tenth of an inch.
Temperatures are forecast for the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Nationwide, the winter storm is to bring heavy snow, gusty winds and hazardous travel conditions from the Intermountain West and Rockies to Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma on Tuesday.
