Mid-Columbia Libraries reading challenge set to begin
The new Stars Wars movie, due out later this month, is the inspiration behind Mid-Columbia Libraries’ Winter Reading Challenge.
The event, which runs from Dec. 14 to Jan. 8, kicks off with parties at branch libraries throughout the Mid-Columbia featuring Star Wars characters and activities.
The challenge invites library patrons to read for 20 minutes per day, attend library programs, volunteer and do other activities for the opportunity to win prizes. All participants are eligible to win a Kindle Fire tablet computer or a $500 Visa gift card. Prizes are provided by the Friends of the Mid-Columbia Libraries.
