Hanford High School Key Club members recently raised more than $1,200 for Project Eliminate, a Kiwanis International and UNICEF initiative to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.

The deadly tetanus disease takes the lives of nearly 49,000 babies and women each year.

To raise money, Key Club members auctioned off chances to throw pies into the faces of club officers and even the school principal, Tory Christensen.
