KID Helping Hands program pays out $19,206
The Helping Hands program of the Kennewick Irrigation District has spent $19,206 to pay the annual irrigation assessments of customers in need so far in 2015.
The amount is $2,000 more than was paid out on 2014. Money for the program, which is a partnership with Community Action Connection, comes from a portion of the revenue from delinquency fees and also donations made by KID customers.
Donations can be made at the KID administration office at 12 W. Kennewick Ave. or by using the option on the KID payment coupon. Customers wishing to apply for the Helping Hands program can find information about eligibility at www.kid.org or contact Dana Hernandez at 509-586-9111, ext. 105.
