Apartment fire in Pasco

Firefighters from around the Tri-Cities responded to a fire Monday evening at the Pinecrest apartment complex on West Jay Street in Pasco.

Flames were shooting out the windows of the apartment at 2129 W. Jay St. when firefighters arrived shortly after 4 p.m., officials said. The blaze was contained to the unit.

No one was home at the time and no one was injured, officials said. The cause is under investigation. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
