Patchy freezing fog could make Tri-City roads slick

Travelers will need to keep an eye on the weather forecast this holiday.

Patches of freezing fog that could make roads slick are forecast for some mornings before 10 a.m. and some nights, both in the Mid-Columbia and on routes to Seattle, Portland and Boise.

In the Tri-Cities, roads should be good until Thanksgiving night. Unusually cold temperatures could cause patchy fog to freeze that night, Friday morning, Friday night, Saturday morning and Sunday night.

The coldest night will be Thanksgiving night, with temperatures in the Tri-Cities falling to as low as 12 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Lows should gradually warm to about 24 degrees by Sunday night.

Highs will be close to freezing from Thanksgiving Day through Saturday, warming to the mid 30s Sunday through early in the week.
