Kennewick grocery store to have open house

An “open house” for customers is planned from 3-to-7 p.m. Nov. 19 at Red Apple Market, 902 S Washington Street in Kennewick.

The event, called “A Taste of the Holidays,” is planned to let people get to know new owners Michael and Judy Nellis, said Paul Snyder, the store’s produce manager. It will feature food demonstrations and games for kids.

The Nellis family agreed to buy the store shortly before former owner Tom Duzan died in November 2014, Snyder said. He opened Red Apple Market in 1984 with wife Edwina, about six years after buying Mayfair Market at the same location.
