Multi-level parking garage on the way up at Kadlec in Richland

A solution to congested and limited parking at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland is starting to take shape.

Crews recently began construction on a new five-story parking garage at the medical facility complex on Swift Boulevard.

It will provide more than 600 parking spaces for employees, patients and their visitors.

Scheduled to open early next summer, it is anchored by 299 auger cast pilings set 35-feet deep into the ground, according to Kadlec spokesman Jim Hall.

The general contractor is Bouten Construction.
