Richland’s White Bluffs Elementary School is organizing a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the family of a student diagnosed with a rare cancer.

Caleb Gallaher, a first-grader, will undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital for the next 10 months for rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive rare childhood cancer.

Caleb had a well child visit on Aug. 11, just after his 7th birthday. Some time after, a tumor started to grow and fill his nostril. The tumor was removed Sept. 4. He has been in Seattle since Sept. 14.

Fat Olives Restaurant will cater the fundraiser. It will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the school at 1250 Kensington Way. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids.

They can be purchased at the school or at the door the night of the event. Donations also can be made online at www.youcaring.com/caleb-gallaher-443518.

All proceeds go toward Caleb’s family to help with expenses during their extended stay in Seattle.
