Chiawana High worker placed on leave after inappropriate contact report

A clerical staff member at Chiawana High School in Pasco is on administrative leave after a report of inappropriate contact with a student.

And Pasco police are investigating the matter.

The staff member hasn’t been named.

The Pasco School District received the report on Nov. 10 and contacted police and placed the employee on leave, a district statement said.

“The district will continue to cooperate with law enforcement throughout the criminal investigation,” the statement said.

The district added that, “while we make no judgments of guilt at this time, if true, the allegations represent a breach of our trust and a disappointing departure from our standards for all district employees. Safety of our students is the highest priority of our school and district staff.”

Chiawana High parents may contact Principal John Wallwork with questions at 509-543-6786.

People with information they think is related to the investigation should contact Pasco police.
