Last hospitalized Priest Rapids Dam worker out of ICU

The last worker hospitalized after the electrical explosion at Priest Rapids Dam on Oct. 8 has improved from serious to satisfactory condition, according to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

He is no longer in intensive care, according to the hospital. Five other workers who were burned previously have been released from hospitals in Seattle or Yakima.

An arc flash from a breaker, which serves as the on and off switch, for one of 10 generators on the Columbia River Dam, created heat and fire that injured the workers. The breaker has been removed and is undergoing a forensic analysis, according to Grant PUD.
