Tri-City businesses recognized for vocational rehabilitation

The Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation honored eight Tri-City-area businesses at the Building Bridges and Breaking Down Barriers ceremony in Pasco for work that included recruiting, hiring and promoting individuals with disabilities.

The businesses are Campbell and Co., Pavement Surface Control, Bob’s Burgers and Brew, Test America, Pizza Hut, Pasco Red Lion, Walgreens and Washington River Protection Solutions, the Hanford tank farm contractor.

Washington River Protection Solutions said it regularly posts job openings with organizations such as Deaf to Work, Enable America, Think Beyond the Label and the United Spinal Association, as well as with colleges specific to students with disabilities.

“Campbell & Co. believes that hiring people with disabilities creates a positive impact on our team, promotes an inclusive culture and is a good part of our success,” said Brian Campbell of the family-run business.
