Registration open for free chronic disease, diabetes self-management classes

Individuals who suffer from chronic illness or diabetes may register for free Benton Franklin Health District’s chronic disease or diabetes self-management programs.

The chronic disease self-management classes is at 5:15 p.m. Thursdays from Oct. 29 to Dec. 10, with no class during the week of Thanksgiving.

The diabetes self-management classes is at 4 p.m. Mondays from Oct. 26 to Nov. 30.

The classes are at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 640 Columbia Center Blvd., Kennewick.

Participants in the six-week programs will learn how to live with with fatigue and pain, improve their nutrition and exercise choices, communicate better with health care providers and family members and develop weekly action plans.
