Sunnyside hospital officials plan to break ground on a new replacement hospital and medical office building just off Interstate 82 next year.
Sunnyside Community Hospital & Clinics recently purchased 50 acres owned by Schenstra Farms that’s equidistant between Yakima and the Tri-Cities for the expansion, officials announced Thursday.
Hospital officials told the Herald they don’t have an estimated cost for the project since they are in the initial planning and design phase.
The main hospital campus will feature a three- to four-story 160,000 square-foot building.
The two-story medical office building will be about 80,000 square feet.
“Our new medical campus provides us the opportunity to place all clinical resources on one site, while allowing for additional land for future expansion,” said CEO John Gallagher in the release. “Our new location also provides ease of access for our patients and their families.”
