Tri-Cities proclaiming Red Ribbon Week Oct. 23-31
Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and West Richland are making proclamations for Red Ribbon Week and commending the Tri-City Young Marines for living drug free.
Red Ribbon Week is Oct. 23 to 31.
The ribbon symbolizes a person’s commitment to raising awareness about the destruction and deaths caused by drugs in America.
Pasco City Council Mayor Matt Watkins was the first Monday night to recognize Young Marines representatives, Sgt. Madison Waldo and Cpls. Hunter Beseth and Alexandra Ashley.
The other three city councils will have similar presentations at their Tuesday meetings.
The nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign tries to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourages participation in drug prevention activities.
