Project Linus’ local chapter to host Make a Blanket Day

Project Linus’ Make a Blanket Day is from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Richland Library, 955 Northgate Drive.

Join Project Linus’ “blanketeers” at this semi-annual gathering as they work to create blankets for children in need.

The mission of Project Linus is to create fleece, knitted or crotchet blankets or cotton quilts for children ages 0-18 who are dealing with serious illness or trauma.

To participate in the local chapter’s Make a Blanket Day, guests must bring their own sewing machine, scissors and other supplies. Guests can sew, tie quilts, crotchet or knit. Free demos and refreshments will be provided. Those who wish to stay for the whole day are asked to bring a sack lunch.
