Priest Rapids Dam worker back in the hospital
A fourth worker burned in an electrical explosion Thursday at Priest Rapids Dam on the Columbia River was admitted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Monday night.
He is in satisfactory condition. The other three workers at the hospital include a dam employee who remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit, an employee in serious condition in ICU and another employee in satisfactory condition, according to Harborview.
Six employees were hurt in the explosion, with five sent to Harborview and one going to Yakima Regional Medical Center. Three of those workers were released from the hospitals. No information was available about why one of the workers was back in the hospital Monday and Tuesday.
The wife of one of the injured workers has posted on Facebook that she’s hoping Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will visit her husband at Harborview. The post, which shows a man with bandaged hands and face, has more than 12,600 “likes.”
On Thursday a breaker for one of the 10 generators at the dam near Desert Aire malfunctioned, causing an electrical explosion. Investigations into the cause of the explosion are continuing.
