Tri-Cities Women’s Expo set Oct. 16-17 in Kennewick

Cheri Manley grew up in Portland and lived in Seattle, and both places had plenty of events geared toward women.

But she didn’t find too many when she moved to the Tri-Cities.

So she changed that. Manley produces the annual Tri-Cities Women’s Expo, which is in its 17th year.

The event is Oct. 16-17 at the Three Rivers Convention Center, 7016 W. Grandridge Blvd., Kennewick.

It offers free giveaways and samples, live jazz music, a bistro and wine bar, massages and makeovers, astrology readings, jewelry, makeup and spa products, home decor and antiques, arts and crafts and more, Manley said.

Four fashion shows are planned throughout the two days.

And information will be offered on everything from financial planning to Botox.

“It’s a place where you can get information on your retirement, on health issues or diet or whatever, and not be in a pressure situation,” Manley said.

Plus, there’s all the fun.

“It’s really about having quality girlfriend time — doing something fun that’s different. You can get pampered, shop, have some food,” she said.

Arbor Healthcare for Women is the event’s main sponsor.

The expo, which moved to the convention center in 2014 after years at the TRAC facility in Pasco, draws about 3,000 people over its run.

It also supports businesswomen in the community; a majority of the vendors are women.

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 16 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17.

Cost is $7 at the door, and admission is good for both days.
