Hermiston man cited for running into vehicle that struck a deer

A Hermiston man was cited Friday night for following too closely after a he rear-ended a pickup truck on Highway 97 in Okanogan County

Darrin E. Ulrich, 31, was northbound on the highway five miles outside Riverside in a Ford Fusion with passenger Miranda M. Garrett, 35 and two girls, all of Vancouver, said a release from Washington State Police. He ran into a Toyota pickup driven by Glenn L. Frisk, 62, of Tonasket, who had just struck a deer.

One of the girls was injured and taken to Mid Valley Hospital in Omak. Her status was not immediately available. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
