Mental Illness Awareness Week events begin Oct. 7
A free screening of the award-winning documentary Hidden Pictures is planned Oct. 7 in Richland.
It’s one of a few events planned as part of Mental Illness Awareness Week. The National Alliance on Mental Illness’ Tri-City chapter is helping coordinate.
The screening of the film on mental illness around the world is at 7 p.m. at Lourdes Counseling Center, 1175 Carondelet Drive.
The Tri-Cities Summit: The Faith Community and Mental Health starts 8:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at Richland Baptist Church, 1632 George Washington Way. Cost is $20. For more information or to register, go to www.tinyurl.com/tricitysummit.
And Cindy Adams from Greater Columbia Behavioral Health will discuss the stigma of mental illness at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at Lourdes Counseling Center.
