Gesa partnering with Red Cross on Thanksgiving Turkey Trot

Gesa Credit Union is partnering with the local American Red Cross to put on this year’s Turkey Trot — the annual Thanksgiving morning race in Columbia Park.

The event, now called the Gesa Credit Union Turkey Trot, raises money for the Red Cross.

As the presenting partner, Gesa will direct the event coordination and manage all expenses, ensuring that all of the net proceeds directly benefit the local Red Cross chapter, a news release said.

The partnership “is a win for the community. It strengthens our mutual resolve to be good stewards of donor dollars,” said Peggy Hoggarth, the local Red Cross executive director.

“As a credit union we believe in giving back and helping improve the lives of those who live in the communities we serve,” added Don Miller, GESA president and CEO.
