Kennewick man drowns at Grant County lake
A Kennewick man apparently drowned at a popular fishing spot in Grant County.
Authorities recovered the body of Micheal E. Dawson, 69, about 4:20 p.m. Friday from Lenice Lake.
Dawson was fishing on a floatation device when for some reason it malfunctioned, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Other fisherman tried to save Dawson, but were unsuccessful.
The death is under investigation by the Grant County Coroner’s Office, though drowning is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
Lenice Lake is southwest of Royal City in a remote area near Beverley.
