Authorities were scouring the Columbia River on Friday for a man seen jumping from the blue bridge.

Witness told police the man — described as wearing a red sweater and khaki pants — jumped from the bridge shortly before 11 a.m.

Fire and police crews searched both sides of the river, though no person was seen in the water or getting out of the river.

The Columbia Basin Dive Rescue Team was called out to help look, along with a boat from the Fish and Wildlife Service.

Boats also were checking the Franklin County shoreline for the man.
