Cancer center will host free event to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Tri-Cities Cancer Center will host a free, public event called “Let’s Make Pink Just Another Color” from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Oct. 1 at the center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave. in Kennewick.

The center will be lit up with more than 3,000 pink fluorescent lights. Guests can explore an array of booths, take a tour, participate in raffles and receive a number of free gifts and treats. They will also learn about screening options and ways to reduce the risk of breast cancer, and will have the opportunity to take a breast health pledge.

The event is free. T-shirts featuring the adage “Let’s Make Pink Just Another Color” will be given to the first 150 arrivals.

Call 509-737-3413 or go to www.tccancer.org to learn more.
