Semi-truck crashes west of Richland
An early-morning crash on Highway 240 west of Richland injured a Benton City man.
The crash happened about 4:20 a.m. as Floriberto Pimentel-Flores, 33, was driving a semi-truck west on the highway, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The semi gradually went off the highway to the right and Pimentel-Flores overcorrected, troopers said. The vehicle tipped over in the eastbound lane.
Pimentel-Flores was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, troopers said. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Troopers said the crash was caused by inattention. Pimentel-Flores was reportedly cited for negligent driving.
The semi had some damage and was towed from the scene.
