Richland Conoco owner pays EPA penalty

The owner of the Conoco gas station at 780 Stevens Drive in Richland has reached a settlement agreement for an alleged failure to comply with environmental regulations.

SRPH Gasoline Inc. will pay a penalty of $5,100, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

SRPH Gasoline Inc. failed to monitor three underground petroleum tanks at least every 30 days as required by law between March 2014 and January 2015, according to the EPA.

The company has corrected the alleged violations. It neither admitted nor denied allegations.
