Astronomy Day planned Sept. 19 at Reach center in Richland

The Reach center in Richland is celebrating its second annual Astronomy Day on Sept. 19.

Activities are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They include a meteor drop challenge, a dark sky trivia game and live demonstrations on how black holes work, the relative gravity of planets and the physics of light travel, among other family friendly space-related fun.

Representatives from the Tri-City Astronomy Club and Columbia Basin College’s Bechtel National Planetarium will be on hand helping out.

Admission is $8 for adults and $6 seniors, students and military members. Kids 5 and younger and Reach members are free.
