Boating safety class scheduled

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary plans an “About Boating Safety Class” 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 19 at Ben Franklin Transit, 1000 Columbia Park Trail, Richland.

The class will be repeated Oct. 17. Cost is $25.

The class will provide basic knowledge to obtain a boat license or safety certification in many states. It may also make participants eligible for an insurance discount.
