Irrigon Chamber of Commerce to open visitor center
The public is invited to the grand opening of the Irrigon Visitor Center, scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 16 at its new location, 490 Highway 730 in Irrigon.
The center will also serve as an office location for the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
There will be a meet-and-greet from 1 to 1:30 p.m. The grand opening ceremony is at 1:30 p.m., followed by an open house. Special guests include Rep. Greg Smith, Mayor Sam Heath and City Manager Aaron Palmquist.
A second quarter grant from the Wildhorse Foundation was instrumental in opening the doors. The $8,000 was earmarked for furnishings, technology and marketing materials for the new center.
