Annual “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” on Sept. 12

The Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s Tri-Cities will take place Sept. 12 at Clover Island in Kennewick. All community members are invited to participate.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer’s disease care, support and research.

Walk participants will learn about the disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment and support programs and services. They also will honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the Promise Garden ceremony.

Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Clover Island lighthouse. The opening ceremony will begin at 9:45 a.m. At 10 a.m., participants will leave the lighthouse and begin the 3-mile walk.

Every participant must be registered, including children. Strollers are permitted, but skateboards, bicycles, and roller skates are not. Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
