CWU professor to give Kennewick talk on rock glaciers

Central Washington University professor Karl Lillquist will give a talk about rock glaciers in Washington’s eastern Cascade mountains at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Benton PUD auditorium, 2721 W. 10th Ave. in Kennewick.

Lillquist will discuss research done by the Ice Age Floods Institute that has revealed rock glaciers distributed across the eastern Cascades and classified them by form, origin and activity.

Lillquist is a physical geographer who has been a faculty member at Central Washington University since 1995. His presentation is free and open to the public.
