Unions plan picnic at park on Labor Day

A Labor Day picnic to “celebrate the American worker” will feature free hot dogs and hamburgers for the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7 at Columbia Park in Kennewick.

The free event also will feature live music, a bounce house for kids and a car and bike show.

Organized by several labor organizations throughout the Tri-Cities, the fourth annual event is expected to draw about 3,000 people.

The main organizations involved include the Washington Education Association, Southeastern Washington Central Labor Council, Central Washington Building Trades, Pendleton Building Trades and Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council.
