Seasonal Bateman Island bird walks start

The Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society plans its first Bateman Island bird walk of the season Sept. 5.

Walkers are expected to see migrating warblers and possibly shore birds if the river is low.

Participants should meet at Wye Park at 1600 Columbia Park Trail in Richland at 8 a.m. They should bring binoculars if they have them and be prepared to walk for several hours.
