Cascade natural gas rates drop
Customers of Cascade Natural Gas will pay less for their gas this winter.
The Washington State Utilities and Transportation Commission approved a 13.8 decrease in the company’s rates, it announced Tuesday.
The average residential customer using 46 therms a month will pay $7.26 less for a total bill of $43.46.
Natural gas companies are required to file information with the state at least every 15 months to adjust rates based on the constantly changing cost of natural gas in the wholesale market.
Ten months ago Cascade’s rates increased 5.5 percent for residential customers.
Cascade Natural Gas, based in Kennewick, serves almost 200,000 customers in 65 communities in the state.
