TV station, Yakima paper share space
YAKIMA -- KAPP-TV, the Yakima ABC affiliate, moved into the Yakima Herald-Republic building this week.
Six employees are housed in a 1,380-square-foot space in the southeast corner of the building at 114 N. Fourth St., Herald-Republic publisher Sharon J. Prill told employees this week.
General manager Brian Paul Lubanski said the Herald-Republic was one of a dozen -- including three downtown -- locations considered.
"Everyone is excited to get out of the big giant cave," Lubanski said, referring to KAPP's building at 1610 S. 24th Ave.
KAPP has been looking to downsize since many of its TV operations moved to the Tri-Cities a few years ago. KAPP sold its building to Melody Lane Performing Arts Academy.
