Acts include juggling, acrobatics, unicyclists and the Globe of Death, one of the show’s most popular performances. In this act, motorcyclists race inside a steel sphere at speeds of up to 50 mph, crossing paths as they circle the enclosed cage.

This year’s production is themed around K-pop, with music and performances inspired by the genre. Audience members are encouraged to dress in theme-related costumes and participate in the experience.

Nick DeFrancis, director of marketing and promotions, said the circus changes its performers each year to keep the show fresh for returning audiences.

“Right now, we have about 25 people total, including all our performers, setup crew and concessionaires,” Defrancis said. “We have a wide range of international performers from America, Argentina, Mexico, Columbia and Chile. They’re born into the circus.”

Several community organizations are giving out free tickets for children under ten with the purchase of an adult ticket. Participating groups include the Boys & Girls Club, local preschools and daycares, Mark Twain Elementary School, meat markets, taco stands, Safeway stores and other local businesses.

Each show is about 90 minutes long with nine showtimes over the course of the five-day run.

The circus partners with Tri-Cities Rascal Rodeo, a nonprofit organization that produces rodeos for individuals with special needs. DeFrancis said the partnership spans more than 20 years, and a large percentage of proceeds from the Circo Osorio’s shows go to the nonprofit.

Organizers are expecting 300 visitors each day, though the circus tent can hold 400 people comfortably.

“Turn off your phones, turn off your TVs. Go out there and bring your family,” DeFrancis said. “We want to bring joy to a community and bring live entertainment back to town. That’s why people still love the circus. It’s something unique and different. They get to see exciting stuff live.”

After its Pasco visit, Circo Osorio will continue its 10 1/2-month tour through the Pacific Northwest.
