Motorcyclist loses control on I-82 near Benton City. 2 seriously hurt

An adult and a juvenile were seriously hurt in a motorcycle crash near Benton City on Saturday evening.

Kyle Groves, 40, of Cle Elum, Wash., failed to negotiate a curve shortly before 7 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

His Kawasaki motorcycle ended up in the median of Interstate 82 just east of the Benton City exit.

He and his passenger, a juvenile whose identity and age were not released, were injured. Both were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

Charges are pending, according to WSP.

Highway traffic was diverted around the crash scene, according to initial reports.
