Young Tri-Cities man hurt in Friday night crash on bypass highway
A Pasco man was injured Friday night when the driver of a pickup ran a light on Highway 240 at Van Giesen Street in Richland, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Donovan Vannapho, 21, of Pasco, was driving a Toyota Camry north on the bypass highway and was turning west onto Van Giesen Street at about 8:15 p.m. Friday.
Jakobie Reynolds, 23, of Richland, failed to stop his southbound Ford F150 pickup at the stoplight there, and it crashed into Vannapho’s car, according to the WSP.
Vannapho, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Reynolds was not hurt, according to the WSP.
The WSP plans to charge Reynolds with running a red light, having no insurance and having expired license tags.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident, said the WSP.
