Celebrating Valentine’s Day in Tri-Cities? See 10 activities for under $20

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.

Between planning dates, buying flowers and gifts, or splurging on a nice bottle of wine or champagne, the day of love can be an expensive endeavor — with costs adding up quickly.

However, it’s possible to take part in Valentine’s Day in Tri-Cities without breaking the bank.

Here are 10 local events across Valentine’s weekend that cost $20 or less, from wine tastings to concerts and parties.

What are affordable Valentine’s Day events in Tri-Cities?

In Tri-Cities, Valentine’s options span from daytime activities to date night events.

Stop by the Public Market at Columbia River Warehouse, 10 East Bruneau Ave. in Kennewick, between 4 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, for a Valentine’s Celebration. Attendees get a free slice of cake, music and photo booth opportunities, plus the classic Public Market shopping experience.

Admission for the event is free, but host Sparkle Initiative is holding a diaper drive for its community pantry.

From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, Tucannon Cellars is hosting a Red Wine and Chocolate tasting event with live music by Gabriel Knutzen.

Admission is $20, or free for club members, and includes four 1.5-ounce pours of featured Tucannon red wine and a complimentary chocolate.

Additional vendors will be onsite, and chocolate charcuterie cups will be available for $14.

Tucannon Cellars is at 40504 North Demoss Road in Benton City.

Feel like dancing? Enjoy a night of Latin dance with DJ Wepaje at Noches Calientes, Jokers Nightclub, 624 Wellsian Way in Richland.

Doors open at 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, on with a $15 entry fee. The club will offer drink specials for couples all night.

More into bands? The Emerald of Siam, 1314 Jadwin Ave. in Richland, is hosting a Sadie Hawkins Valentine’s starting at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14. Stonehêd will play 1990s rock covers until closing, and the show is all ages until 11 p.m., with the event continuing for those 21-and-up only. Admission is $10.

Sage Brewing Company, 8425 Chapel Hill Blvd. in Pasco, is hosting Valentine’s Day tastings all weekend long. Visit any time between Friday, Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 15, to try beer and chocolate tasting for $10, or wine and chocolate tasting for $15.

Food trucks will be at Sage Brewing on Friday and Saturday, and local vendors will have offerings as well. If you visit between 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday, Albany Opal will be playing live music.

Find Galentine’s Day activities for friends in Tri-Cities

If you’re spending Valentine’s Day with a group of friends instead of a romantic partner, don’t fret. There are affordable options for Galentine’s Day in Tri-Cities, too.

The Regional Home and Garden Show at the Hapo Center, 6600 Burden Blvd. in Pasco, is hosting a Galentine’s Pop-Up from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. Regular show tickets cost $9. Ladies get discounted door entry all day with $1 off admission, and free readmission after.

The Galentine’s Pop-up features a curated market of “women-centric products and services,” organizers said, including a live makeup tutorial by professional artist Amy Rene. The Galentine’s Day Bar will have themed cocktails all day long, and there’s a champagne celebration at 3 p.m. with a free glass of champagne for the first 200 ladies at the bar.

White Bluffs Brewing, 2034 Logston Blvd. in Richland, is hosting a Galentine’s Party from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, featuring “girl pop tunes,” three mimosa flavors and photo opportunities.

Galentine’s Brunch at Summer’s Hub, 6481 West Skagit Ave. in Kennewick, is offering all-you-can-drink mimosas for $15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14.

Are there singles events in Tri-Cities on Valentine’s Day?

If you aren’t in a relationship, there are still events for you.

The Richland Dugout at 99 Lee Blvd. is hosting a Love Stinks Anti-Valentine’s Party with no cover on Saturday, Feb. 14. Music by cover band Fallout begins at 8 p.m.

Attendees can use color-coded bracelets to share their relationship status and get “Comeback Cards” offering a $5 discount off your next cocktail “because you survived Valentine’s Day,” organizers said. The bar will also have a Slam Wall for posting notes about your ex.

Want to meet new people? Head to Jackalope Bar and Grill, 3320 West Kennewick Ave. in Kennewick, for a free speed dating experience and karaoke party.

Speed dating will begin at 8 p.m., with signups through the bartenders. Karaoke follows at 9 p.m., and drink specials will be offered all night long.
